Where to read more about women's health

Are you a Queensland resident who has checked the health information on this site, but wants to read more about women's health? The following options are available to you:

Choose from the Women's Health Queensland Wide library
Our collection includes books about women's gynaecological, reproductive and emotional health and aims to include the best currently available titles.

Books are available for loan in person or by post to any woman anywhere in Queensland. We lend one book at a time for up to four weeks at a time. Browse our subject-based booklists online, and order by email or by phone.

Join your own free local public library service
Most Queensland councils provide public libraries. If your library doesn't have the book you want, or anything on the subject you are looking for, ask them to borrow it for you from another library. All public libraries are able to borrow from each other, and from a large central stock at State Library, to meet readers' needs.

To find out what books are available at public libraries throughout Australia, go to the National Library's search engine. You can search by keyword - just like using Google - and find books and other resources at libraries across Australia. Searching is free and you can then ask your own library to borrow the item you want for you. Alternatively, pay a subscription of $55 per year for an enhanced service and you can borrow directly from libraries across Australia yourself.

Use the services of the State Library of Queensland
If you are a member of a local library anywhere in Qld, you can use the online resources of State Library too. Once you have joined your local public library, visit the free online databases provided by the State Library:
Gale Health and Wellness Information Centre
Australian & New Zealand Reference Centre
